ApplyBoard is seeking a Strategic Content Manager to join its marketing team. The company simplifies the study abroad application process by connecting international students, advisors, and educational institutions on a personalized platform.
In this role, you will become a recognized voice in international education, creating content that helps ApplyBoard stand out. You'll produce a mix of long-form insight reports, high-profile communications, and frequent short-form content (social posts, newsletters, video scripts) that people actually read and share.
Key responsibilities include:
**Industry Expertise**: Build deep knowledge of international education—government policy, study permit and visa changes, enrollment trends—and monitor regulatory developments and competitor activity to develop clear points of view for ApplyBoard.
**Content Creation**: Produce a steady flow of snackable content alongside longer pieces. Break flagship reports and data into multiple bite-sized assets for maximum reach. Source, organize, and analyze first- and third-party data to craft trend reports, insight reports, gated e-books, and publications for different segments. Write for blog, social channels, and owned channels for lead generation and nurture. Apply SEO best practices and research to optimize content. Turn industry insights into sales enablement materials: briefings, talking points, one-pagers, and FAQs on policy changes.
**Content Strategy & Consistency**: Contribute to ApplyBoard's content strategy and calendar, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Help shape key messaging and uphold tone of voice across teams. Edit content from across the marketing team for clarity, tone, style, and grammar. Work with design and distribution to format content for different channels. Facilitate content brainstorms within marketing and across teams. Build and refine presentation decks for key events.
**Requirements**:
- 5+ years of professional writing, content, or marketing communications experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in tech or education
- Strong understanding of the international education landscape, especially government policy, with appetite to become an expert
- Portfolio demonstrating range: long-form reports and thought leadership alongside short, high-frequency social and editorial content
- Exceptional written communication with sharp attention to detail and strong editing skills
- Ability to translate complex information and data into clear, useful content for different audiences
- Experience creating enablement or training content for sales, partner, or customer-facing teams
- Confidence presenting and sharing knowledge with internal teams and leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across teams
- Solid time management and ability to hit aggressive deadlines without compromising quality
- Working knowledge of marketing principles and SEO best practices
- Comfort working independently, solving problems, and managing your own workload
**Nice to have**: Experience in PR or media relations; content that has earned media coverage; experience with HubSpot, Google Sheets, WordPress, and Canva; experience with short-form video or podcast content.
