Axiom Space, a commercial human spaceflight company building next-generation orbital infrastructure and advanced spacesuits, seeks a Strategic Analyst to serve as the analytical engine for the Business Development and Strategic Partnerships team. Reporting to the Director of BD & Strategic Partnerships, you will drive high-quality decision-making through quantitative insights, financial analysis, and strategic reasoning.
Key responsibilities include conducting market research and competitive landscape analysis for target sectors, geographies, and customer segments relevant to Axiom's capture and partnership pipeline. You will build and maintain financial models for opportunity evaluation, including revenue and cost forecasting, cash flow modeling, pricing analysis, and financial metrics assessment (ROI, IRR, NPV) of prospective deals and partnerships. You will develop opportunity theses and business cases for new market entry, partnership structures, and commercial pursuits to support the phased capture management process.
You will produce briefing materials, market intelligence summaries, and data-driven recommendations for leadership decision-making. Additional duties include tracking and analyzing pipeline metrics, win/loss trends, and deal economics to identify patterns and improve pursuit quality, as well as supporting due diligence efforts on prospective partners, customers, and market opportunities.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Science, or a relevant field, with 5+ years of experience in commercial analysis, market research, corporate development, management consulting, or investment analysis. Preference given to candidates with aerospace & defense industry experience or exposure to complex B2B/B2G environments. You must demonstrate strong financial modeling and decision analysis skills, including scenario analysis, pricing models, and sensitivity analysis. Experience synthesizing complex technical and market information into clear recommendations for senior leadership is essential. Proficiency with CRM, data visualization, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools is required.
Desired qualifications include an MBA, CFA, or relevant graduate degree; international business development or capture experience; familiarity with government and commercial space ecosystems, New Space, LEO infrastructure, and microgravity markets; and a track record of execution in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You should embody entrepreneurial mindset, high emotional intelligence, strong collaboration skills, and passion for space exploration.
