Checkmarx is an AI-powered application security platform trusted by 1,600+ customers across 70+ countries. The company is a 7X Gartner Leader in application security, helping enterprises secure software from development through runtime. This Strategic Account Manager role covers the Canada territory (Toronto and Quebec), an emerging but strategically important market for Checkmarx. The position offers genuine territory ownership with two anchor accounts: a top-five global technology company with substantial multi-year expansion potential, and a top-five Canadian bank navigating restructuring. Key responsibilities include: • Build and own a strategic customer base by developing multi-threaded relationships across complex, multi-business-unit enterprise organizations. Create and execute long-term account strategies that unlock expansion revenue. • Develop the Canadian market by generating new logo pipeline in Toronto and Quebec, growing early-stage channel relationships into real pipeline contributors, and building market infrastructure. • Own the existing account base by re-engaging enterprise customers across the region, stabilizing relationships, and laying groundwork for expansion. • Hunt net new enterprise logos in a market where Checkmarx brand awareness is growing. Generate your own pipeline rather than waiting for inbound leads. • Translate AppSec complexity into business outcomes for CISOs, CTOs, and CFOs—positioning false positive noise, AI-generated code risk, supply chain exposure, and developer friction as strategic business priorities. • Execute MEDDIC with discipline, maintaining accurate pipeline qualification and stage progression in Salesforce. • Build champions at every organizational level—from CISOs and AppSec leaders to Platform Engineering and Development heads—understanding decision-makers, influencers, and blockers. • Partner with Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to execute enterprise deals as a coordinated team. Year one success metrics include multi-threading across 2+ business units in existing customers, developing $1M+ qualified pipeline for new logos, closing or advancing 1+ new logo, and activating 2+ partners as pipeline contributors. The role rewards patience, relationship depth, and long-term ownership mentality, with compounding returns starting in year two. Top performers earn well above OTE with substantial territory upside.
