Storyous is a point-of-sale system for gastro businesses operating within the Teya fintech group (joined in 2021). The product combines a robust POS system, advanced data analytics, and additional modules integrated with Teya's payment solution to create a comprehensive all-in-one platform for individual businesses and chains with dozens of locations.
We are seeking a Product Designer to serve as the design partner for Product and Engineering teams, taking ownership of UX/UI across the entire product. You will translate product requirements and your own ideas into thoughtful designs and prototypes, identify opportunities to simplify user journeys, and shape how Storyous functions in real-world operations.
This is a newly created role with significant autonomy. We have an existing design language and design assets in Figma, and we are planning a major redesign of the tablet application while further unifying and developing our design system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design UX/UI across the tablet application, web admin, mobile app, kiosk, and premium analytics platform
- Lead and execute a major redesign of the tablet application
- Convert product briefs, customer needs, and design proposals into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final Figma designs
- Actively identify opportunities to simplify the product and user journeys
- Conduct field research with customers, lead user interviews, observe product usage in live operations, and apply findings to design iterations
- Develop and maintain design language, components, templates, and consistency across platforms
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering from concept through implementation
- Address design challenges, prepare comprehensive proposals including edge cases, and document design decisions in Figma, Jira, and Confluence
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate routine work, iterate designs, and create clickable prototypes
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing digital products with a portfolio demonstrating shipped projects
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, prototyping, and shared libraries
- Experience with touch interfaces and complex web applications
- Ability to translate ambiguous briefs into clear flows and implementable designs
- Practical experience with user interviews, usability testing, or field user observation
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and propose improvements
- Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams; ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Practical and judicious use of AI tools
- Fluent Czech or Slovak; English proficiency for daily work
- Advantageous: experience with POS systems, gastro/retail, fintech products, dashboards, or design systems; interest in front-end development
