As a State Enterprise Account Executive covering Maryland and Pennsylvania, you will own a greenfield territory selling Verkada's enterprise platform into state government agencies. You will source and close new business to meet or exceed quarterly sales quotas, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through deal closure. Key responsibilities include building deep product knowledge, maintaining accurate pipeline forecasting, executing aggressive outbound activity (calls, emails, demos, trials), and serving as a trusted advisor to government customers and channel partners. You will work closely with Customer Success teams to ensure smooth implementations and gather market feedback for the product and engineering teams. The role requires responding to government RFIs and RFPs, navigating complex procurement processes, and understanding security standards and regulations specific to state agencies. Required qualifications: 5-10+ years of quota-exceeding enterprise software sales experience selling to state government agencies; demonstrated expertise in government procurement processes, security standards, and RFI/RFP response; proven track record developing greenfield territories and adding net new logos; strong hunter mentality and sales DNA; excellent verbal and written communication skills; BS/BA degree strongly preferred. The role requires 50%+ travel domestically and internationally. Must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.
