Anthropic is seeking a Startup Account Executive based in Bengaluru to drive adoption of Claude AI among India's thriving startup ecosystem. You will own the complete sales cycle from initial outreach through production deployment, working with founders, CTOs, and engineering leaders across fintech, SaaS, edtech, healthtech, and agritech sectors.
Key responsibilities include building relationships with key stakeholders in India's startup ecosystem; owning the full sales journey from first contact through implementation and scaling; guiding startups through proof-of-concept, paid pilots, and production deployment with consumption-based pricing; collaborating with accelerators, VCs, and developer communities to expand Anthropic's presence; developing market insights specific to Indian startups including cost optimization, multilingual needs, and data residency requirements; gathering use cases to inform the global product roadmap; developing India-specific sales playbooks accounting for local budget cycles and procurement processes; and mentoring team members to build a world-class sales organization.
You will need 8+ years of B2B sales experience in India's startup ecosystem, preferably with developer tools, APIs, or SaaS products. You must demonstrate a track record of consultative selling to technical audiences and deep understanding of India's startup landscape, key players, and market dynamics. Technical fluency is essential—you should confidently engage with engineering teams on API integration, LLM fundamentals, use cases like RAG and semantic search, security/compliance, and cost optimization, without necessarily coding. Experience with consumption-based pricing models and guiding startups from POC to production is required. You must understand Indian startup buying dynamics, budget cycles, procurement processes, and data residency concerns. Strong relationship-building and communication skills are essential, along with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in ambiguity while collaborating across time zones.
Preferred qualifications include existing relationships within India's startup ecosystem; experience selling to Indian unicorns or high-growth startups in fintech, e-commerce, or SaaS; technical background in engineering or computer science; understanding of AI/ML applications in Indian contexts; track record of building new markets or launching products in India; active involvement in developer communities or tech events; proficiency in Indian languages; and commitment to responsible AI development.
