Octus is a global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics serving hedge funds, investment banks, management consulting firms, and law firms since 2013. The company is seeking a Staff Writer based in Pakistan to join the APAC Core Credit team, a group of experienced journalists, financial analysts, and lawyers across the Asia-Pacific region.
In this role, you will focus on writing news articles from press releases and company announcements with emphasis on speed, accuracy, and clarity. You will write breaking news stories based on company announcements and third-party content, aggregate third-party content using strong news judgment while contributing to Octus's extensive database collection, and support a team of experienced journalists, financial analysts, and lawyers. You will adopt Octus's editorial standards, workflows, and processes, monitor news articles and press releases for key developments, and work in shifts including morning, afternoon, and night rotations to ensure full news coverage. Additional responsibilities include ensuring weekend announcements are written up before each week begins and providing crossover support between regions to maintain 24/7 coverage.
The ideal candidate has wire service, newsroom, or similar experience, with a background in writing about business or financial news. You should have strong news judgment, the ability to quickly create concise stories from complex information, and excellent communication skills. Speed, accuracy, and strong news judgment are critical to success in this role.
