Salary: USD 180,000 - 223,000 / annual
Airbnb is seeking a Staff UX Writer to join its Host team, a core design discipline supporting product development from concept to launch. The UX Writing team at Airbnb comprises 40+ writers collaborating closely with Experience Design, Experience Research, and Design Program Management.
In this role, you will create industry-leading experiences for Hosts that meaningfully impact company success. Your focus will be on inspiring and empowering everyday people to live richer lives by hosting on Airbnb. You will conceptualize new products, shape content and product strategy, and codify messaging frameworks that guide the Host team's collective goal of growing, supporting, and retaining the Host community.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Writing clear and concise copy across multiple product touchpoints
- Leading content work across multiple projects within a single initiative
- Developing inspiring, strategic ideas based on product requirements, data, and research
- Determining language and design patterns that best serve the user experience
- Presenting content and design work to directors, executives, and stakeholders
- Driving consensus with stakeholders and partners on content recommendations
- Managing copy deadlines and delivering detailed copy across multiple concurrent projects
- Connecting with cross-functional partners (accessibility, anti-discrimination, legal, localization) to ensure proper input on work
- Participating in writing team critiques to present work and sharpen teammates' contributions
This is a remote-eligible position within the United States. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (certain states are excluded; check Airbnb's careers page for the current list). The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy
- Proven ability to lead content/copy work from concept to detailed design
- Experience working with and presenting to executive teams
- Experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout design and build stages
- Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to move work forward in ambiguous work environments
- Comfortable working alongside other design disciplines in Figma (primary collaboration tool)
