Tonal is seeking a Staff Solutions Architect to own end-to-end solutioning for initiatives across the Business Systems ecosystem, including NetSuite, Salesforce, iPaaS/integration layer, and connected applications supporting commerce, finance, fulfillment, and service processes.
You will be accountable for the full development lifecycle of initiatives you lead, from understanding business problems and designing future processes to leading technical design, defining test approaches, and ensuring delivery and adoption. Tonal's business model spans connected hardware and recurring membership revenue across multiple go-to-market channels, so your solutions will touch the full commercial and operational value chain—lead-to-quote, order management, fulfillment and forward logistics, customer support, and reverse logistics—as well as the financial processes they feed.
Key responsibilities include:
**Requirements & Process Design:** Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Care, Operations, and Finance to define systems strategy and gather business requirements. Analyze current-state processes and design future-state improvements. Facilitate design workshops and drive cross-functional alignment.
**Solution & Technical Design:** Own system solution design across NetSuite, Salesforce, and integrated applications, making explicit build/configure/buy and native/custom trade-offs. Assist technical leads in authoring technical design documents, data models, and integration patterns. Work on iPaaS platform integrations and custom solutions, defining data schemas, error handling, and reconciliation approaches. Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions and influence the Business Systems roadmap.
**Testing & Delivery:** Develop comprehensive test strategy and cases (functional, integration, regression, UAT). Execute and coordinate testing including stakeholder UAT. Own solutions through cutover, hypercare, and handoff to support. Troubleshoot issues to root cause.
**Practices & Enablement:** Establish solution design standards and SDLC discipline. Apply sound system governance—change management, environment and release management, access controls, segregation of duties, and audit trails. Develop end-user training and enablement. Mentor analysts, developers, and administrators.
**Requirements:**
- 8+ years designing and deploying NetSuite solutions in enterprise environments, including hands-on configuration and extension
- Direct experience with Salesforce Sales and Services Clouds as part of a connected ecosystem—data model, objects, workflows, and ERP integration
- Hands-on experience with iPaaS platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, Workato, or similar), including integration design patterns, error handling, and monitoring
- Strong functional knowledge of financial and accounting processes—order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report
- Working knowledge of commercial and operational processes: lead-to-quote, order management, fulfillment and forward logistics, customer support, and returns/reverse logistics in omnichannel environments
- Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous requirements into delivered solutions in complex, integrated environments
- Ability to move fluidly from detailed technical configuration discussions with engineers to future-state strategy conversations with senior business stakeholders
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships that make large-scale process and system changes stick
- Comfortable challenging the status quo with knowledge to explain why; leads by example in improving ways of working
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies and common SDLC frameworks
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments with context switching, scoping, and committed delivery in parallel
- Growth mindset and genuine interest in learning new systems and domains
**Nice to have:**
- Best-practice knowledge of IT General Controls—change management, access controls, segregation of duties—and designing systems that hold up to audit
- Experience onboarding new SaaS applications into an ERP ecosystem, including vendor evaluation, selection, and implementation oversight
- Familiarity with WMS, 3PL, and carrier integrations
