ezCater is the leading food tech platform for workplace meal management in the US, connecting organizations with over 125,000 restaurants. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Finance Technology team, you will architect and lead the evolution of ezCater's finance platform, which handles pay-ins, payouts, invoicing, and tax calculations for customers and restaurant partners.
You will own the technical architecture for the Finance Technology platform, making strategic decisions that unlock scale for the next several years. Key responsibilities include designing clear, versioned APIs and contracts for how finance services are consumed across all channels; leading multi-quarter initiatives end-to-end from problem definition through system design and delivery; and establishing technical quality standards with measurable operational metrics.
You will maintain perspective on the evolving fintech landscape, leading technical evaluations of payment service providers and other finance technology solutions through prototyping and technical spikes. You'll be a leader in the team's AI-native software development lifecycle, experimenting with and implementing new approaches.
Beyond individual contribution, you will be a key force in growing the engineering organization through mentorship and coaching of technical leaders, establishing and rolling out technical and architectural standards, and fostering an inclusive and transparent culture. You'll partner with senior leaders across ezCater—in engineering, product, and other organizations—to align on shared patterns and standards. You'll lead through collaborative design, whiteboarding, technical discussions, and architectural alignment. Additionally, you'll partner with Platform Engineering on shared service patterns, Temporal, observability, secrets management, and CI/CD.
You will act as a technical multiplier through design reviews, code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship of the team.
