OneTrust is seeking a Senior Manager of Backend Engineering to lead strategic and technical initiatives in Bengaluru. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical contribution. You will set strategic goals for your engineering team, hire and develop engineers, and prioritize projects while remaining involved in technical execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing end-to-end development activities and monitoring reliability and performance of internal systems
- Ensuring compliance with security regulations while managing software development projects
- Setting requirements, goals, and timelines for projects
- Designing strategies for future development based on company objectives and resource availability
- Implementing innovative technologies and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Providing technical oversight to your team and ensuring on-time delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve development processes
- Building and leading onboarding and mentoring programs to develop engineers and foster team growth
You bring 12+ years of engineering experience with a proven track record of successfully developing and delivering complex, enterprise-class software with material market impact. Your background includes recent hands-on experience in development, operations, troubleshooting, and team management. You have experience building or contributing to component libraries, knowledge of backend technologies, and a passion for writing high-performance, reusable code. You're skilled at creating inclusive, accessible user experiences and driving technical excellence across platforms.
