JumpCloud is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Device Management to join its India-based engineering team. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building and architecting complex device management solutions within JumpCloud's AI-powered unified IT management platform. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and execute on the largest and most complex technical problems, serving as a technical leader on cross-functional initiatives - Work with ambiguous requirements, conduct independent research and experiments, and collaborate with UX and Product teams to define solutions - Decompose complex problems into simple, maintainable solutions - Exert technical influence across teams to drive highly available, reliable, and performant systems - Work alongside Principal Engineers and Architects to establish shared technical strategy - Partner with engineering and product teams on initiatives impacting multiple teams - Mentor and develop other engineers on advanced technical topics - Balance technical leadership with strong business judgment in technology decisions Required Qualifications: - 12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading complex projects - Deep domain expertise in Device Management (MDM) across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android, including policy management, enrollment, and Apple Push Notification service - Strong proficiency in Go; familiarity with Java, TypeScript, or similar languages - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) - Solid background in distributed systems, microservices, SaaS architecture, and database design - Experience designing and architecting solutions across services, frontend, and database layers - Strong leadership and collaboration skills for driving complex multi-team projects - Ability to thrive in fast-moving, remote-first, geographically distributed environments - Fluent English for interviews and internal business communication The role includes on-call responsibilities.
