You will join as a Staff API Developer, responsible for designing, documenting, and maintaining enterprise APIs using industry best practices. This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you will architect API standards, guide the development team, and drive improvements across the API management lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and document API standards and best practices for Zinnia's enterprise APIs
- Collaborate with the API management team to implement API gateway capabilities (traceability, monitoring, security, analytics)
- Design and maintain enterprise search functionality with natural language capabilities and scalability
- Write and maintain enterprise APIs using polyglot architecture (.NET, Java, TypeScript)
- Improve the software development and deployment lifecycle for the API management team
- Catalog existing APIs and create/maintain a developer portal
- Implement and automate unit, functional, integration, and contract testing for internal and external APIs
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to the development team
- Integrate enterprise IAM solutions for all APIs
- Write high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performant code

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Experience developing and deploying in cloud-native environments
- Proficiency with languages: .NET, Java, TypeScript
- Experience with API gateways (Apigee, Kong)
- Working knowledge of DevOps tasks (environment provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, application monitoring)
- Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns
- Proven experience designing and maintaining versioned APIs
- Expert-level communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Expert-level troubleshooting skills
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
- Ability to work and travel independently
- Excellent work ethic and strategic thinking

- Working knowledge of fully containerized environments
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.)
- Stay current with latest trends and technologies in API development
