Hinge Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Care Interactions team, which builds the systems enabling care teams to communicate with members and deliver personalized musculoskeletal care at scale. Care Interactions is part of CareHub, Hinge Health's internal care-delivery platform used by physical therapists, health coaches, physicians, care managers, and clinical teams. You will own core communication and care-delivery capabilities including in-app messaging, video visits, scheduling, clinical notes, care plans, and the CareHub interaction record for coordinated care. This is a hands-on Staff Engineer role where you will write production code, lead architecture and design reviews, participate in operational response, and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include delivering large projects that introduce new product capabilities; breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks while identifying root causes of incidents; collaborating on technical strategy and roadmapping; mentoring and supporting junior engineers through code reviews and pairing; integrating AI technologies to automate processes and enhance features; and proactively improving maintainability, availability, and performance of team systems. CareHub is evolving toward an AI-first platform. You may help build AI-assisted capabilities for visit preparation, documentation, summarization, contextual recommendations, and follow-up workflows. You will contribute to systems that are clinically useful, observable, resilient, and safe, with appropriate human oversight. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Clinical, Quality, and other engineering teams to take problems from discovery through production. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, workflow-heavy products where thoughtful technical decisions improve care-team efficiency, member experience, and Hinge Health's ability to deliver care at scale. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 10+ years of professional software development; 4+ years with at least one programming language; 4+ years in full software development lifecycle; 3+ years with React JS and Node.js/TypeScript; 1+ years mentoring junior team members and collaborating cross-functionally; experience with AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LangChain, LangGraph); and experience delivering large software projects in production. Preferred qualifications include platform-as-product mindset; strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals; experience integrating LLMs/generative AI into production workflows; experience defining and maintaining SLOs/SLAs; observability expertise; headless CMS integrations; durable workflow orchestration (Temporal); media processing tools; event streaming (Kafka); and CI/CD automation. This is a Bengaluru-based hybrid role requiring 3 days/week in office. The role involves regular collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in San Francisco, requiring openness to late-evening meetings to align with Pacific Time (8am-6pm PT).
