Pathos is building an AI-native biotech platform that transforms massive multimodal datasets into foundation models and live agents to fundamentally change drug development. The company operates without traditional middle management layers—instead, small teams of 2–4 subject-matter experts command hundreds of AI agents to accomplish work that previously required dozens of people. Every function, from clinical execution to asset selection to foundation model development, runs on this model, delivering meaningful outcomes in hours instead of weeks.
You will architect and ship the first generation of Pathos AI and data infrastructure. Your work will power core products and run agents supporting business development, clinical development, computational biology, and lab teams. This is an early-stage role with broad technical scope and full ownership of critical systems.
The role requires deep expertise in building and shipping AI systems at scale. You'll design infrastructure that handles 200+ petabytes of multimodal data linked to patient outcomes, orchestrate AI agents, and make high-judgment technical calls that compound over time. The environment rewards operators—deep experts who can specify requirements, execute at scale, and drive product velocity.
Pathos is well-capitalized with strong leadership and advances its own clinical-stage programs using its AI platform to sharpen trial design, patient selection, and biomarker strategy. This is a direct application of engineering skill to advances in cancer research and precision medicine.
