Onebrief builds AI-powered collaboration and workflow software for military planning and operational coordination. As Staff Simulation Data Modeler, you own the credibility and accuracy of AtomEngine, Onebrief's proprietary cloud-based game engine used to simulate real-world military scenarios. You will own the AtomEngine entity catalog end-to-end: the entities themselves, sources, standards, parametric formulas, tooling, and test coverage. Your core responsibilities span four areas: **Catalog Strategy & Prioritization**: Lead catalog strategy across multiple segments (service branches, nations, eras). Build and maintain structured tracking of completion, freshness, and data confidence. Partner with Customer Relations to translate field feedback into a prioritized roadmap for which catalog segments matter most. **Standards & Tradecraft**: Research sources and codify governing principles for entity creation. Research and develop defensible formulas for weapon effects, sensor effects, fuel burn, survivability, and other performance models. Make judgment calls on when to adapt existing precedent versus build original models from scratch. Defend models directly to customers and subject matter experts. Build a trusted network of SMEs for the toughest modeling decisions. **Agent-Directed Production**: Use modern agentic AI workflows as your primary force multiplier. Design prompts, review loops, and guardrails that analysts and their AI agents adopt for first-draft research, data entry, and documentation at scale. Supervise for accuracy and catch what agents miss. Define requirements for tools that accelerate team workflow and partner with Engineering to build them. **Verification, Validation & Accreditation (VV&A)**: Lead ongoing VV&A across catalog segments. Direct which automated test batteries get built and partner with Engineering to design continuous testing against the content catalog. Organize and run competitive wargames against other Content Creators to stress-test entities and assumptions. Continually interrogate the catalog and drive improvement. **Knowledge & Documentation**: Lead documentation standards across the team. Author internal and external-facing knowledge articles that explain model logic and sourcing. Train and mentor other analysts on tradecraft, rubrics, and VV&A methods. You'll need strong research and analytical skills with sound judgment when source data is incomplete. Demonstrated ability to direct AI agents productively—writing clear instructions, structuring review checkpoints, catching errors. Comfort with quantitative modeling (weapon effects, fuel consumption, survivability formulas). Strong organizational skills managing catalogs spanning hundreds of items. Concise written and verbal communication for standards and knowledge articles. A wargamer's mindset focused on simulation credibility.
