Skydio is the leading US autonomous drone company, serving defense, public safety, and enterprise customers. As Staff Product Manager for Cloud Platform & Infrastructure, you will own the strategic roadmap for multi-cloud, multi-region, and government-compliant platform capabilities that enable Skydio to scale globally across federal, state, local, and commercial customers. You will also own the on-premises product line, productizing air-gapped and self-hosted deployments into scalable, secure, high-impact solutions.
This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on translating field and sales pain into a tightly scoped, customer-centric roadmap and driving cross-functional programs to market. You will work closely with SRE, cloud engineering, security & compliance, legal, GTM, and executive leadership to build platform foundations that unlock growth while maintaining the fast, simple, frictionless experience customers depend on.
Key responsibilities include: conducting customer discovery with government and commercial accounts to surface requirements and validate solutions; owning the platform roadmap by converting recurring pain into prioritized, outcome-focused initiatives with clear user stories; productizing on-premises offerings and leading cross-functional delivery including engineering, SRE, security, legal, and GTM; coordinating release planning and managing customer expectations; translating regulatory requirements (FedRAMP, CJIS, etc.) into product and operational requirements; and evangelizing platform capabilities across the organization.
You should have 8+ years of product experience shipping cloud platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products. Demonstrated track record of turning customer pain into prioritized roadmaps and driving cross-functional programs to completion is essential. Experience shipping products under regulatory constraint (FedRAMP, CJIS, DoD RMF, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, or financial regulatory) is highly valued. You need strong program management and stakeholder influence skills to align engineering, security, legal, sales, and customers without formal authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to brief executives and external auditors, are required.
The role is based onsite 5 days/week at Skydio HQ in San Mateo, CA with 25-30% travel to customers as needed. The company offers generous relocation assistance. This role involves products for military customers and is subject to U.S. export control laws and government contract requirements.
