Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the end-to-end OpenTelemetry experience for Grafana Cloud. You'll define how users and AI agents instrument workloads and send telemetry data to Grafana Cloud, making it the easiest and most trusted destination for OpenTelemetry adoption.
Your mission is to reduce uncertainty, complexity, and failure points in the OpenTelemetry onboarding journey. You'll design coherent experiences across multiple instrumentation paths: OpenTelemetry SDKs, automatic instrumentation (Beyla, SDK injection), and client-side Collectors. A key focus is treating coding agents as first-class participants in the experience, ensuring instrumentation options, configuration, errors, and validation signals are discoverable and actionable by both humans and machines.
Scope includes: SDK onboarding and configuration, automatic instrumentation experiences, Collector deployment, authentication and connectivity, guidance for choosing instrumentation approaches, agent-safe workflows for implementation and verification, troubleshooting unhealthy telemetry, validation signals for data quality, and transitions to Grafana Cloud observability solutions.
Success extends beyond receiving the first data point. You'll ensure telemetry arrives with the quality, context, and structure needed for meaningful observability outcomes. You'll partner with teams across Engineering, Design, UX, and GTM to develop product vision and strategy, own roadmaps and market research, and serve as the primary expert and advocate for your domain. Strong communication is essential in this fully remote, globally distributed environment.
