IonQ is a quantum computing platform company (NYSE: IONQ) building next-generation quantum systems for applications in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics, cybersecurity, and defense. The company recently achieved 99.99% two-qubit gate fidelity and set a world record in quantum computing performance.
You will own product management for a next-generation quantum hardware program from early definition through commercial launch. This is a dual-responsibility role: (1) ensuring the market is ready for the new system by aligning how capabilities are exposed to customers, managing early-access programs, and orchestrating key demonstrations and milestones; and (2) ensuring the system is ready for the market by partnering with engineering on design tradeoffs, managing program priorities, and addressing operability, compliance, deployability, and customer success factors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the product vision and roadmap for a next-generation quantum system
- Act as a key stakeholder and team member within the engineering program, negotiating design targets and requirements with clear business perspective
- Manage day-to-day tradeoffs between technical and commercial priorities
- Identify and execute work on export control, compliance, operability, maintainability, compatibility, and field deployment
- Collaborate across Product, Engineering, R&D, Sales, Marketing, and customer teams
- Establish vision, identify requirements, define roadmap, and inform go-to-market strategy
- Work directly with customers and external partners to validate product-market fit
You will need technical depth to credibly partner with engineering leads, strong business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders. This role requires pragmatic judgment about what "ready" means for a quantum system and its target customers.
