Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers globally with curated product catalogs. The Brand pillar mission is to enable brands to create high-quality product listings, maintain them, and reach retailers efficiently—helping Main Street compete with big-box stores.
As a Staff Product Engineer on the Brand pillar, you will be a technical leader responsible for executing the team's hardest features, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product, design, and data teams. You'll work at the pillar level, supporting different teams across quarters as priorities shift, balancing short-term execution with long-term strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and marketing on business-critical initiatives
- Identifying and owning complex multi-phase projects across multiple teams and platforms from concept to implementation
- Building features across Backend (Java/Kotlin), Frontend (React/Next.js), and Mobile stacks
- Optimizing web applications for performance and scalability
- Mentoring engineers on technical and product judgment
- Experimenting with AI productivity tools to accelerate customer impact
You're excited about this role because you want to understand how customers' businesses work, help engineers grow in product and design domains, balance feature velocity with long-term maintainability, and use technology to empower independent retailers and brands.
Requirements: 5+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript, comfort with agentic coding tools, familiarity with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Experience driving end-to-end product improvements, strong product sense, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. You're entrepreneurial, data-driven, and curious about new tools.
Tech stack: Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, React, Next.js, JUnit, Hibernate, Guice, Jersey, MySQL, CockroachDB, AWS, HTTP, JSON, Protocol Buffers.
Hybrid role: 3 days/week in office (Tuesdays, Thursdays, plus one flex day), with flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks annually.
