Krea is building next-generation AI creative tools designed to empower human creativity rather than replace it. The company has raised over $83M from top-tier investors including a16z and Bain Capital, and recently launched Krea 2, their proprietary foundation model built for aesthetic diversity and stylistic control.
As a Product Engineer, you'll help scale sub-products already generating significant revenue while shipping new product surfaces for creative users. This is a full-stack role with primary focus on frontend development using SvelteKit and React, complemented by backend work across Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse databases.
Key responsibilities include building real-time collaboration and canvas tooling using WebGL2/WebGPU for node-based tools with CRDT support; shipping durable execution systems for long-running workflows and public APIs (with OpenAPI docs auto-generated from Zod schemas); reaching into Python ML inference on GPU clusters and multi-cloud Kubernetes infrastructure as needed; and owning cross-service metrics, tracing, and observability for shipped features.
You'll work end-to-end from idea conception through shipped, measured impact. The role requires strong first-principles thinking, product sense, and the ability to own features across the entire stack. The team values clear communication and taste—a well-developed point of view on what constitutes good creative work.
The tech stack includes SvelteKit, TypeScript, Python, Postgres (AWS Aurora), Redis, ClickHouse, Docker, Kubernetes, and FluxCD. The company works full-time and in-person at their waterfront San Francisco office, with a team that includes musicians, designers, visual artists, and engineers.
