Salary: USD 220,000 - 270,000 / annual

As a Staff Product Designer on the AI platform team, you will lead the design of AI-native features and capabilities that power agent experiences across Zip's product. You'll work on defining core patterns and interactions that enable different personas to benefit from AI features, creating repeatable solutions used across multiple teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading design of AI platform features from concept through launch
- Developing a compelling vision for how AI integrates thoughtfully throughout the application
- Partnering closely with engineers, product managers, and go-to-market stakeholders to brainstorm, define, and implement new features
- Collaborating with product and customer-facing teams on UX research and designing thoughtful solutions
- Iterating rapidly on designs based on user feedback
- Leading design reviews with the broader AI team
- Working cross-functionally with product designers across the organization to understand team-specific needs
You'll have direct access to users for research and testing, and your designs will be immediately used by enterprise customers. The team values craft, collaboration, and building consumer-grade experiences for complex enterprise workflows. This is a high-impact role working on problems used by some of the world's leading companies.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional design experience at a startup or similarly resource-restricted organization, shipping great designs at a fast pace
- Proven experience shipping AI products end-to-end as the lead designer
- Experience iterating with engineers and team members on both visual and UX designs to achieve the right experience and details
- Excellent presentation, collaboration, and communication skills
- Empathetic understanding of your work's audience and customers
- Strong visual design skills without sacrificing usability
- Understanding of technical constraints in building web applications
- Proficiency with AI tools in your own workflow (Claude, Figma Make, Cursor, or similar prototyping tools)
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the San Francisco office with 5 flexible remote days per quarter available.
