Shield AI is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to provide technical expertise and presales support for customers across Asia, Middle East, and Oceania. This role bridges Shield AI's technology roadmap with customer operational needs, focusing primarily on the V-BAT autonomous aircraft platform while maintaining familiarity with the full product suite (Hivemind autonomy software, X-BAT, and Aechelon simulation technologies). Key responsibilities include leading technical capture efforts for regional opportunities, developing and executing technical strategies for high-quality proposals, and serving as the primary technical lead for go-to-market engagements. You will manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including customer engagements, presales support, proposal contributions, and solution development. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with Business Development, GTM Operations, Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Product Management teams. You will manage technical content for proposals, RFIs, white papers, and capability briefs, ensuring accuracy and compliance. As a subject matter expert, you'll provide technical expertise in customer engagements, capability briefings, and solution discussions to drive sales outcomes. The position also involves acting as a liaison between GTM and Engineering to ensure customer requests are technically feasible and aligned with product capabilities and timelines. Additional responsibilities include contributing to technical documentation repositories, providing training and mentorship to GTM teams on Shield AI solutions, supporting competitive analysis and market intelligence, and analyzing regional operational and environmental factors to produce high-impact white papers that inform the product roadmap. Required qualifications: 5+ years in technical presales, business development, or solutions engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace, AI-driven technology, or U.S. Federal/International government environments. Bachelor's degree in engineering, applied science, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Strong technical acumen in uncrewed aircraft systems, mission payloads, autonomy-enabled concepts of operation, and ability to reason across air vehicle, sensor, datalink, and ground system elements. Experience with V-BAT, Hivemind, and Vision Systems preferred.
