Shield AI is seeking a Staff Operational Analyst to lead modeling, simulation, and analysis of its autonomous aircraft systems. You will perform multi-level analysis—from component and system through mission and campaign levels—to evaluate effectiveness, survivability, and operational impact across diverse domains and applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting operational analysis using modeling & simulation (M&S) techniques to assess system performance in realistic and contested environments
- Evaluating AI-powered platform performance across multiple mission profiles and operational scenarios
- Collaborating with engineering, product, and defense stakeholders to inform design trade-offs and system improvements
- Supporting product decisions and customer engagements through rigorous analysis and demonstration of capabilities
- Analyzing data at component, system, mission, and campaign levels to drive operational insights
You will work with Shield AI's portfolio including Hivemind autonomy software, V-BAT and X-BAT aircraft platforms, and Aechelon simulation technologies. Your analyses will directly influence how the company's AI systems are designed, deployed, and validated for real-world defense operations.
Required qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of military operations and operational concepts
- Expertise in modeling & simulation (M&S) methodologies and tools
- Proficiency in data science and quantitative analysis techniques
- Experience with operational analysis frameworks and methods
- Ability to translate complex technical systems into actionable operational insights
This is a staff-level individual contributor role for a technically deep professional who can guide analysis strategy and mentor junior analysts while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical projects.
