True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space domain for the U.S. and its allies. As Staff Embedded Systems Security Engineer, you will own the security architecture and implementation for spacecraft platforms operating in adversarial RF environments with resource-constrained hardware. You will architect and build security platforms, tooling, and foundational services that enable secure-by-default embedded systems across flight software, firmware, and hardware. Key responsibilities include: designing security architecture and threat modeling for spacecraft flight computers, subsystem firmware, FPGA gateware, and cryptographic implementations; architecting PKI solutions for resource-constrained spacecraft covering device authentication, firmware signing, secure boot, and key storage; implementing cryptographic solutions meeting FIPS 140-3, CNSA 2.0, and CCSDS Space Data Link Security standards; driving post-quantum cryptography migration; hardening the flight software build and deployment pipeline against supply-chain attacks; securing test environments while maintaining flight-representative security posture; leading security assessments and penetration testing; and driving adoption of secure design practices across engineering teams. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining deep hardware security expertise with strong software engineering skills. You will write production code in C++ and embedded C, build test frameworks and security validation platforms, and tackle novel security challenges in space-based systems where established solutions don't exist. The role demands the rigor required for systems where failure has national security implications. You'll work across flight computers, RF systems, real-time operating systems, and radiation-hardened SoCs. Security clearance eligibility is required.
