Alation is seeking a Staff Deployment Strategist to drive high-impact deployments at the intersection of data intelligence, AI, and governance. In this hands-on builder role, you will partner with senior customer stakeholders (Directors, Sr. Directors, and executives) to design, build, and embed agentic solutions using Alation's configuration-first platform.
You will lead complex deployments end-to-end, from discovery through value realization. Your responsibilities include conducting discovery sessions to surface business challenges and high-value AI automation opportunities, rapidly prototyping and validating AI agent solutions using low/no-code approaches, and architecting scalable, maintainable solutions across customer ecosystems. You will own delivery across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups, drive consumption and change management to ensure solutions are embedded operationally, and facilitate high-impact workshops with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities also include managing scope and risk proactively, providing structured product feedback to improve the platform, contributing to Executive Business Reviews with data-backed outcomes, identifying expansion opportunities, and creating reusable patterns and playbooks that other Deployment Strategists can adopt.
You bring 6+ years of experience in management consulting (strategy, operations, tech) or forward-deployed solution roles at data platform companies. You are technically fluent with hands-on SQL skills, familiarity with Python and APIs, and the ability to work in low/no-code platforms while holding your own with technical teams. You have demonstrated presence with Director/Sr. Director-level stakeholders and comfort in executive-facing situations. A strong track record of building and deploying low/no-code solutions from prototype to production is essential. You are a strong problem solver who synthesizes ambiguity across workstreams, systems, and stakeholders into clear, actionable plans. Working understanding of AI agent patterns, LLMs, data governance, and metadata management is preferred. A technical undergraduate or graduate degree is preferred; an MBA or technical Master's is a plus. You are willing to travel 15–30% for customer and prospect onsite visits.
