Backed by $44M in venture funding, Shakepay is regulated as an investment dealer across all Canadian provinces and territories. As Staff Data Scientist, Growth, you will be a senior individual contributor leading data-driven decision-making across the organization. You'll partner closely with cross-functional squads including engineering, design, marketing, finance, and operations to identify growth opportunities and drive measurable business impact. Key responsibilities include: partnering with product squads to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience; collaborating with marketing, finance, and operations to uncover growth opportunities; championing experimentation frameworks and decision-making processes; defining KPIs and success metrics; applying statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning to understand user behavior; identifying high-leverage opportunities through deep analysis of user journeys and conversion funnels; shaping company priorities with data-informed perspectives; building dashboards and self-serve tools; maintaining a shared data layer with the broader data team; and fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making. You'll operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving environment, turning ambiguous problems into measurable outcomes. The role requires combining experimentation, statistical rigor, business intuition, and product thinking to influence growth and retention strategies for millions of Canadians.
