Salary: USD 196,000 - 245,000 / annual
Ripple is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead the technical direction and evolution of the Platform Data team, building a robust, scalable, and resilient data platform serving all portfolio applications. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight of a world-class data engineering organization.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the Platform Data team as a technical leader, driving architecture decisions and engineering excellence
- Collaborating with solution teams and product managers to deliver robust cloud-based data platforms and solutions
- Making critical decisions on solution design, system architecture, and delivery approaches
- Mentoring and coaching team members to grow their skills and capabilities
- Driving agile development and analytical methodologies across the team
- Continuously improving operations, processes, methodologies, and technology choices
- Engaging in concept discussions and proposed technology solutions to meet business objectives
- Participating in the YBIYRI (you-build-it-you-run-it) model, including on-call pager rotation
- Ensuring all work meets quality, operational, and architectural standards
You bring:
- Strong leadership acumen and ability to manage and grow engineering teams
- Deep data engineering experience in complex distributed systems
- Expert-level knowledge of ETL processes, data medallion architecture, and data movement
- Proficiency with Databricks, SQL, Python, PowerShell, C#/.NET, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Data Lake/Lakehouse, Qlik, and Zoho Analytics
- Strong software development lifecycle expertise and Agile methodologies
- Hands-on technical approach with ability to deep dive into code
- Excellent communication, coordination, and influencing skills
- Experience with Izenda, SSRS, and AWS Data Services is a bonus
