The Data Science & Analytics team consists of 14 analytical professionals, many with backgrounds from top consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain). Team members are embedded across business units—growth marketing, product development, AI & automation, and strategic partnerships—where they drive data-informed decision-making and shape business strategy.
In this Staff Data Scientist role, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas and own the analytical function end-to-end. Your responsibilities include:
- Define the right problems: Understand the business question and decision impact before analysis; push back on flawed questions.
- Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics.
- Drive outcomes: Present findings and recommendations to product, growth, finance, and operations teams; influence decisions and drive execution.
You will work with SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub. The role emphasizes hands-on execution—not pure strategy—with a focus on tangible business impact rather than corporate overhead.
The company culture prioritizes substance over process: no unnecessary slides, meetings, or approval chains. You will own a critical domain and act as an owner, taking responsibility for outcomes even outside your immediate swim lane.
Required qualifications: 6+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth tech company; strong SQL or Python skills; track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable impact; ability to communicate complex findings persuasively to leadership.
