Jerry is a fintech platform managing car and home ownership—insurance, maintenance, repairs, and driving insights. With 5M+ customers, $240M+ raised, and profitability achieved in early 2024, the company is scaling toward 50M customers and $10B valuation over the next four years.
The Data Science & Analytics team consists of 14 analytical professionals, many from top consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain), who drive insights and decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each team member is embedded within a business unit, acting as both analyst and strategic advisor.
As a Staff Data Scientist, you will own the analytical function end-to-end for one of Jerry's core business areas: Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships. Your responsibilities include:
• Define the right problems: Understand the business question and decision impact before analysis; push back on flawed questions.
• Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics.
• Drive outcomes: Present findings and recommendations to product, growth, finance, and operations leaders; influence decisions and drive execution.
You will work hands-on—this is not a pure strategy role. Your day-to-day involves surfacing insights, driving decisions, and seeing them through end-to-end. The culture emphasizes impact over process: no unnecessary slides, meetings, or approvals; only work that materially changes business trajectory.
Required qualifications:
• 6+ years at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth tech company.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to independently pull, structure, and interpret data.
• Track record owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable impact.
• Clear, persuasive communicator who influences leadership-level decisions.
You are a first-principles thinker who asks "what are we solving?" before diving into analysis. You break complex problems into hypotheses, communicate findings clearly, and take ownership across domains. Technical tools: SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, GitHub.
