Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies the ownership experience for cars and homes. Starting with car insurance in 2019, the company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, and achieved profitability in early 2024. The company is now expanding into adjacent verticals (home, motorcycle, RV) with a goal to reach 50M customers and become a $10B business within four years.
The Data Science & Analytics team consists of 14 analytical powerhouses, many with backgrounds from top consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Bain). Team members are embedded across business units—growth, product, AI & automation, and strategic partnerships—where they drive data-informed decision-making and shape the company's most critical initiatives.
As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas and own the analytical function end-to-end. Your responsibilities include:
- Define the right problems: Understand what business question an analysis answers and what decision it will inform. Push back on flawed questions.
- Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics.
- Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to product, growth, finance, or operations teams; communicate findings clearly; and drive next steps.
You will work with SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub. The role emphasizes hands-on execution, not pure strategy. You'll surface insights, drive decisions, and see them through end-to-end.
The company culture prioritizes impact over process: no unnecessary slides, no corporate fluff, no bloat. Every person owns a critical domain. You'll work alongside first-principles thinkers who care deeply about solving difficult problems and making tangible business impact.
Required qualifications: 6+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth tech company; strong analytical skills (SQL or Python); track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact; clear, persuasive communication skills to influence leadership-level decisions.
