Teleport is an AI Infrastructure Identity Company solving critical security challenges by providing cryptographically secured identities for humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents. The company works with enterprises like Nasdaq, IBM, and Elastic to secure infrastructure in an AI-first world. You will be Teleport's first Data Engineer, responsible for designing and building the company's internal data platform from the ground up. This is a zero-to-one opportunity to architect the data infrastructure that powers decision-making across product, engineering, finance, and revenue teams. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and building data pipelines that ingest data from diverse internal sources (product usage, production costs, budgets, sales) into a central warehouse - Creating performant, well-documented data models and schemas that evolve with the company's analytical needs - Implementing data quality checks and validation at every pipeline stage to catch issues early - Managing sensitive data responsibly with proper access controls, redaction, and retention policies - Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data needs and enable self-serve analytics Required expertise: strong SQL and data modeling skills, extensive pipeline development experience in Python or Go, hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), and familiarity with orchestration tools. You should have a builder mentality, intellectual curiosity, and experience handling sensitive data securely. Nice-to-have skills include Go proficiency, mathematics/statistics background, and knowledge of tools like Airflow or dbt. Teleport is remote-first and globally distributed, emphasizing autonomy, collaboration, and direct impact.
