You will own the architecture of Opiniion's data platform end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and availability for analytics and AI. This is a Staff-level individual contributor role with company-wide technical scope and influence.
Key responsibilities include:
• Own the complete data platform architecture, including ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, storage systems, and semantic/BI layers
• Partner closely with the Staff Software Architect to co-drive the architecture and rollout of a new next-generation platform
• Balance maintaining and evolving the current data foundation while architecting the new platform, making deliberate decisions about what carries over versus what gets rebuilt
• Design the data foundation to scale with growing data volume, complexity, and analytical demand
• Establish canonical data models, schema design, and data architecture standards across the platform
• Design and implement correlation, causation, and statistical models to support deeper, more reliable insights
• Stay hands-on with the systems you design, making platform-level tradeoffs with confidence
This role requires deep expertise in data modeling, pipeline design, and platform architecture. You'll think in systems, make confident technical decisions, and remain engaged with implementation. The company is building a new platform alongside its current one, so you'll navigate a dual-track architecture strategy during a critical growth phase.
