Form Energy is hiring a Staff Product Cost Engineer to lead comprehensive cost analysis and management of electromechanical products throughout their lifecycle. This role emphasizes developing and implementing robust cost engineering processes, optimizing product costs, identifying cost reduction opportunities, ensuring accurate cost estimations, and establishing efficient cost management frameworks for new and existing electromechanical systems and components. Key responsibilities include: - Develop detailed cost estimates for electromechanical product designs, including custom mechanical components, electronic components (PCBs, sensors, etc.), wiring harnesses, and assembly - Utilize PLM and CAD programs to analyze design specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing processes specific to electromechanical systems to determine cost drivers - Design, develop, and implement standardized cost engineering processes and methodologies for electromechanical products - Partner with Finance to create and maintain cost estimation templates, tools, and databases - Establish best practices for cost data collection, analysis, and reporting - Support data-driven make vs. buy decisions Form Energy is an American manufacturing and energy technology company revolutionizing energy storage with cost-effective, multi-day iron-air battery systems. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience in a cost engineering role - Deep understanding of cost engineering principles and methodologies specific to electromechanical systems - Proven ability to design, implement, and improve cost engineering processes - Familiarity with manufacturing processes for both mechanical and electronic components - Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions - Demonstrated understanding of financial principles and cost management techniques - Excellent communication and organizational skills
