Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the next generation of data centers powered by an energy-first approach. As Staff Commissioning Engineer, Mechanical, you will serve as the primary point of accountability for commissioning activities across assigned data center projects, owning the full lifecycle from factory witness testing through integrated systems testing and formal turnover. You will act as the on-site mechanical subject matter expert and primary escalation point for technical issues across all project phases. Key responsibilities include reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, and O&M documentation for alignment with design intent; ensuring Owner Project Requirements remain aligned with commissioning scope; overseeing third-party commissioning agents including scope development, performance management, and activity oversight; and coordinating factory testing with the procurement team. You will review and validate factory test procedures, oversee Factory Witness Testing for off-site equipment, and approve all commissioning documentation including Cx Plans, test scripts, reports, and turnover packages. You'll drive quality control processes, issue identification, troubleshooting, and remediation across all phases, ensuring static and dynamic testing align with approved plans and performance standards. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll facilitate alignment between construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and support transition to operations through technical guidance and training. You'll enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements throughout all commissioning activities and maintain complete, accurate documentation for clean project turnover. This role requires 7+ years in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery, with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Deep knowledge of commissioning levels L1–L5, hands-on experience with data center cooling and BMS infrastructure, and proven vendor management are essential. You must be comfortable with 75% travel to project sites.
