Verkada is a $5.8B physical AI platform protecting organizations through integrated video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management. With 30,000+ customers (100+ Fortune 500), 2M+ deployed devices across 170+ countries, and $1B+ annualized bookings, the company is scaling rapidly.
The Core Licensing & Devices team owns the critical financial layer that converts Verkada's licenses into recognized revenue. This double-entry accounting ledger reconciles every license into daily revenue recognition—the system Finance closes the books on and auditors trace. As Verkada scales toward millions of devices and tighter audit requirements, this system becomes load-bearing infrastructure.
You will own the accounting ledger's model, invariants, and correctness guarantees under concurrency, retries, and failure. You'll design systems for upmarket licensing: pay-as-you-go metering, fixed-term commitments, and enterprise packaging. You'll build reconciliation and controls enabling Finance to close books daily and auditors to trace any dollar to its source with full auditability, immutability, and lineage.
You'll partner with Finance, Accounting, Revenue, and Product to translate revenue-recognition policy (ASC 606, deferred revenue, contract modifications, true-ups) into precise, testable system behavior. You'll lead major features end-to-end, mentoring others through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and direct guidance. You'll drive operational rigor: strong observability, tight SLOs, low pager noise, and blameless incident learning. You'll help shape the platform's roadmap as Verkada scales.
The team is small, high-trust, and high-autonomy—direct feedback, learning out loud, high bars on execution and written communication.
