Zocdoc is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join a centralized team responsible for defining, creating, and maintaining a scalable and robust analytics layer that powers strategic analytics, operations, and reporting across the organization.
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex data transformations and production-grade data models, establishing standardized datasets that drive critical decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to ensure data solutions are strategically aligned, efficient, and consistently reliable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and enabling trusted, strategic datasets and analytics solutions that empower data consumers to gain insights at scale
- Leading efforts to enhance self-serve analytics through advanced administration, adoption strategies, and training for Looker and Amplitude
- Architecting and developing production-grade data transformations and models using SQL, DBT, and Dagster
- Partnering strategically with analysts, product managers, and engineers to ensure analytics infrastructure meets evolving business requirements
- Collaborating with data engineering on strategic infrastructure initiatives for data ingestion and pipeline processing
- Driving establishment and continuous improvement of standards around data governance, security, privacy, quality, and retention
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or similar role
- 3+ years with DBT & DBT Core, strong data modeling and data warehousing knowledge
- Expert SQL skills in cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake
- Strong Looker developer skills with LookML modeling expertise
- Experience managing administration and adoption of data visualization and event-based analytics tools
- Python proficiency
- Experience with Dagster or similar orchestration tools
- Strong communication skills across business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
