Snowflake is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join the Analytics Engineering team, reporting to the Accounting organization. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on designing and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers financial reporting, analysis, and automation across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain scalable data models using SQL, Python, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow within an agile development framework
- Design flexible, performant data architectures that support diverse use cases and establish single sources of truth
- Implement data quality assurance and automated testing procedures for Snowflake data models
- Translate business requirements from Accounting stakeholders into technical data specifications
- Collaborate with IT and technical teams to integrate data from enterprise systems and Snowflake databases
- Contribute to data governance strategy, including permissions, security models, data lineage, and metadata management
- Partner with Accounting BI and technical leads on requirements definition, project planning, and user acceptance testing
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models and key metrics
- Identify process and system inefficiencies and drive organizational improvements
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years as an analytics, data, or BI engineer
- Advanced SQL proficiency with experience building large-scale data infrastructure on relational datasets
- Python experience for data parsing, structuring, and transformation
- Hands-on experience with MPP databases (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or equivalent)
- Strong stakeholder communication and ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to introduce structure into complex, ambiguous situations
- Attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- Bias toward action and continuous improvement
Preferred qualifications:
- ERP or Financial Planning tool experience
- Python expertise, particularly with Streamlit
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- Agile/Scrum framework experience
- Background in accounting or financial analysis support
The role requires in-person attendance at the Menlo Park office at least 3 days per week. Snowflake is emphasizing AI-native thinking and experimental mindset as core cultural values.
