Relevance AI is building the home of the AI workforce—a platform enabling teams to create and manage intelligent agents that handle workflows, decisions, and collaboration. The company powers industry leaders including Canva, Databricks, Confluent, and Autodesk, and recently raised Series B funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, Insight Partners, and Peak XV. As a Staff AI Product Engineer, you'll be one of the company's core product builders and cross-team technical leaders. This is the most senior individual contributor role in the company. You'll set technical direction for advanced AI capabilities, particularly agents operating with increasing autonomy on real work. You'll raise the bar for AI engineering and reliability across teams, tackle the hardest and highest-leverage problems, and be deployed onto whatever is most critical at the time. Key responsibilities include: setting technical direction on load-bearing decisions for frontier AI products; deploying onto the company's hardest problems and shipping in days what traditional teams take months to build; raising the bar on AI-native engineering practices including agentic workflows, context engineering, and evaluation discipline; owning the challenging aspects of making autonomous agents trustworthy in production; partnering closely with product, design, and customer teams to decide what gets built; and mentoring other engineers to multiply their impact. You'll work at the frontier of AI-native development where curiosity, product thinking, rapid experimentation, and judgment are embedded in the team's ways of working. The role requires deep expertise in AI-native building, product thinking, backend/API/distributed systems engineering, cross-team leverage, and delivery speed. You should operate at the frontier of coding agents, use AI in novel ways to decompose problems, and care deeply about customer outcomes. The tech stack includes React, Vue.js, TypeScript, Express.js, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, Vercel, Terraform, and Kubernetes—though experience with the exact stack is less important than how quickly you learn and how deeply you already use AI coding agents daily. The role is hybrid (3 days in office required) based in Sydney. The company is willing to sponsor engineers relocating from overseas to Australia.
