1Password is seeking a Staff AI Marketing Systems Engineer to build and operate internal AI services that empower the Sales and Marketing teams. This is a high-impact internal product engineering role where you'll design, build, and run agent systems that help sellers find market intelligence, create tailored sales assets, and respond to deal signals in real time—replacing static playbooks with dynamic, AI-native guidance.
You'll own the full lifecycle of these systems: discovering and mapping seller workflows through direct observation, defining the agent runtime and application architecture, designing trusted knowledge flows across multiple data sources (Salesforce, Seismic, Gong, Notion, Snowflake, Slack), and building routing and specialist agents for sales asset generation, competitive responses, campaign briefs, and field support. You'll work with large language models (Claude, Codex, and others), modern agent frameworks, retrieval systems, and coding agents to create reliable, secure, production-grade AI systems.
A critical part of this role is designing for trusted access and safe autonomy: you'll implement permission-aware retrieval, source-level authorization, audit trails, provenance capture, prompt injection defenses, and retention controls. You'll define where agents can act independently versus where human approval is required, and ensure the system handles customer and account information securely.
You'll sit within Solutions Marketing but work cross-functionally with Sales leadership, Marketing Operations, Data, Security, and central IT. You'll treat Sales and Marketing teams as your users, build against their real workflows, and turn successful solutions into maintained capabilities that scale across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in production AI systems, agent design, workflow optimization, and the ability to balance innovation with security and governance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
