Talkiatry is seeking a Staff AI Enablement Engineer to define and drive how generative AI and automation are used across the engineering organization. This is a hands-on builder role combined with a force-multiplier mandate: you'll design and ship working automations, agents, and tooling that measurably reduce engineering toil and make every team faster and more capable. You'll work directly with Engineering and Product leadership to diagnose workflows, tooling gaps, and pain points across all engineering teams. You'll then design and build automation solutions, evaluate AI coding assistants and agentic developer tools, and drive thoughtful adoption calibrated to team maturity. Beyond developer-facing work, you'll apply AI and ML to core business workflows, modernizing rules-based systems with data-driven approaches. Key responsibilities include: serving as the engineering organization's subject-matter expert on generative AI and agentic systems; meeting with every engineering team to diagnose pain points and build a prioritized backlog of AI-enabled solutions; owning the AI enablement roadmap end-to-end from proposal through execution and impact reporting; evaluating and piloting AI coding assistants with evidence-based adoption decisions; designing and operating a network of specialized automation agents on a shared architecture; instrumenting and measuring impact of each automation shipped; partnering across the business to modernize heuristic systems into ML-informed approaches; defining lightweight adoption frameworks and guardrails for quality, security, cost, and responsible use; championing best practices through documentation, demos, and hands-on pairing; and making technical tradeoffs legible to both engineers and leadership. Required qualifications: 8+ years shipping production systems end-to-end; hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic systems including prompt engineering, context/tool design, evaluation, and orchestration; real production-level experience with modern AI coding assistants and agentic dev tools with a clear point of view on value; working knowledge of applied ML fundamentals sufficient to help move heuristic systems toward proper ML-based approaches; demonstrated ability to drive technical adoption across an engineering organization without direct authority through credibility and working software; strong product instincts for internal tooling with ruthless prioritization and iterative shipping; excellent written and verbal communication comfortable presenting to leadership; prior staff/principal-level IC experience ideally with cross-team or platform scope. Nice-to-have: experience building internal AI enablement programs or developer-experience platforms; healthcare or regulated-industry background; familiarity with vector search, RAG, model evaluation frameworks, and LLM observability; conversational AI or virtual assistant product experience. Talkiatry is the largest dedicated psychiatry practice in the U.S., with 750+ psychiatrists and 250+ therapists delivering over two million patient visits nationwide. The company is transforming mental health care by making high-quality psychiatry more accessible and sustainable for both patients and clinicians through a technology-powered, in-network platform.
