Salary: USD 66,500 - 83,085 / annual
Spring Health is a global mental health platform on a mission to eliminate barriers to mental health. The company operates an AI-native platform delivering personalized support across self-guided tools, coaching, therapy, medication management, and specialty care, reaching over 170 million people worldwide through employers, health plans, and partners.
You will join the accounting team reporting to the Accounting Manager, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. This is a full-time hybrid role requiring 1-2 days per month in the NYC office, with occasional travel for team or company events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and recurring entries with complete supporting documentation
- Own assigned bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve or escalate open items promptly
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by completing assigned tasks accurately and on schedule
- Maintain general ledger schedules for cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, and other assigned accounting areas
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses and explain material or unusual activity
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, Procurement, and business teams to improve financial data completeness and accuracy
- Follow U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls; surface risks or inconsistencies before they affect reporting
- Document recurring workflows and improve accounting processes through thoughtful use of systems, automation, and AI while validating outputs and protecting confidential information
- Contribute to finance system enhancements, special projects, and other priorities as the company scales
Success in this role means completing assigned close work by agreed deadlines, implementing at least one meaningful accounting workflow improvement each quarter to reduce manual effort or error risk, and providing timely, clear answers to finance and business partners while surfacing potential issues before they affect reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting principles
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) and advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software
- Demonstrated AI fluency and experience applying AI tools to increase speed and quality of work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Active pursuit of CPA licensure
- Experience in healthcare or technology sector
