Salary: USD 70,000 - 75,000 / annual
SoundCloud is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance team in New York, supporting the music distribution, premium artist, and advertising business lines. This is a hybrid role with collaboration across US offices (New York, Los Angeles) and the Berlin office.
Key responsibilities include managing monthly and annual closing and reporting for the distribution business line; owning revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliation between DSP reporting, royalties systems, and the general ledger; executing monthly reconciliations for assigned business lines; tracking cash and marketing advance payments and recoupments; maintaining general ledger bookkeeping for P&L and balance sheet items; creating and processing customer invoices and cash receipts; processing record label and music publishing invoices and payments; partnering with the FP&A department; and collaborating with other teams on accounting matters as a proactive business partner.
Required qualifications: 1+ years of accounting or auditing experience, preferably in the music industry; strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus); understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS; comfort in fast-paced, ambitious environments; excellent analytical skills and structured approach to work; strong teamwork and initiative.
