Grüns, a nutrition gummy company, is seeking a Stability & Documentation Manager to join the R&D team. This role bridges formulation science and regulatory compliance, ensuring product stability and documentation accuracy across the gummy portfolio.
You will design and execute the stability testing program for all gummy SKUs, including protocol development, timepoint tracking, and shelf-life validation. You'll evaluate test method suitability for complex matrices, identify potential issues (ingredient degradation, off-notes, packaging interactions) before they become launch or quality problems, and present data to stakeholders as results roll in.
You'll own the complete document suite for every SKU—specifications, SFPs, and supporting documentation—ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and a clean paper trail for regulatory reconstruction. This includes staging specifications from draft through final sign-off and maintaining consistency across internal teams, Quality, Operations, and co-manufacturers.
Additionally, you'll negotiate directly with third-party testing labs on pricing, scope, and turnaround, and collect/review formulation and ingredient documents for assessment. The role reports to the Director of R&D within the Product organization.
The company emphasizes ownership, high standards, and impact. You'll work in a fully remote environment with biannual in-person off-sites. The culture values treating stability data and documentation as source of truth, making independent judgment calls, and building scalable processes rather than solving the same problem repeatedly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years in R&D, quality, or product development in supplements, food, or regulated categories (gummy/confectionery experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience designing and running stability studies, including test method validation for complex matrices
- Strong gummy chemistry knowledge: ability to identify test method limitations (detection limits, matrix interference, extraction methods)
- Prior negotiation experience with contract testing labs on price, scope, or turnaround
- Comfort owning specifications end-to-end and signing off on them
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; capable of serving as primary owner of document accuracy
- Clear communication skills across cross-functional teams, co-manufacturers, and external labs
