Flex is a growth-stage fintech company headquartered in NYC that is transforming rent payments by enabling renters to pay throughout the month on a flexible schedule that fits their finances. The company is moving beyond stealth mode and building out its team to scale its mission. As a Senior Staff Analytics Engineer, you will be a key technical leader on the Data team, reporting to the Director of Analytics Engineering. Your primary responsibility is enabling stakeholders across Flex—analysts, engineers, product managers, and business leaders—to access and leverage data for decision-making. You will own the full lifecycle of data products, from requirements gathering through delivery and maintenance. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the design and development of data models that consume, transform, and expose data across the company - Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to collect business requirements and define successful analytics outcomes - Establishing and maintaining company-wide standards for data structure, quality, and governance - Shaping Flex's data culture by influencing processes, systems, and tools that enable scalable, data-driven decision-making - Mentoring and guiding other analytics engineers and data practitioners You bring 6+ years of analytics engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping high-quality data products at scale. You have expert-level SQL skills and deep familiarity with modern data warehouses (Flex uses Snowflake). You're proficient with dbt or similar data modeling tools and comfortable with BI platforms like Sigma Computing, Tableau, or Mode. You understand the full analytics engineering development cycle—data modeling, version control, documentation, testing, and CI/CD best practices. Prior experience in fintech is highly valued. This is a hybrid role based in Flex's New York headquarters with expectations of 3 days per week on-site. Relocation assistance is available for candidates outside the NY/NJ area.
