As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and engineering, converting raw data into strategic insights and product features. You'll partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex analytical requirements into sustainable, AI-ready data architectures and modeling solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Data Modeling & Pipeline Development:** Design, develop, and maintain robust dbt data pipelines and models supporting buyer experience, experimentation, and ecommerce tracking. Build resilient, auto-recoverable pipelines meeting strict SLAs and data quality standards. Optimize pipelines, debug analytical use cases, and develop models following industry best practices.
**Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:** Functionally understand ecommerce business processes, particularly customer transactions, website experimentation, and A/B testing. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business OKRs into technical solutions.
**Data Governance & Security:** Maintain data catalogs enabling data democratization and governance. Define semantic views with clear business context and metadata for AI-ready, self-service consumption. Ensure data security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
**Leadership & Mentoring:** Mentor data platform associates on solutioning, code reviews, and best practices adoption.
Required qualifications: 6+ years implementing enterprise data solutions; 3+ years with ETL/pipeline tools (dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Glue, Prefect); 2+ years hands-on data modeling and database architecture; extensive SQL expertise; strong Python or Java programming; AWS data services and Snowflake proficiency; performance tuning and debugging skills; enterprise BI platform experience; proven track record leading complex cloud data projects; ecommerce business process understanding; distributed computing knowledge (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) is a plus.
Standout qualifications: Snowflake schema design and optimization experience; semantic layer or AI-ready data product building; startup environment experience; Agile methodology familiarity.
