BigID is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join its Federal Solutions Engineering team, supporting U.S. Federal agencies in adopting BigID's data security, compliance, privacy, and AI data management platform. This role bridges technical expertise and federal sales, requiring deep knowledge of federal procurement, compliance frameworks, and enterprise data architecture.
You will serve as the technical subject matter expert during agency calls, presentations, and procurement processes. Key responsibilities include delivering tailored product demonstrations to federal stakeholders (CISOs, program officers, procurement teams); designing, building, and executing proof-of-concept (POC) and proof-of-value (POV) implementations in federal customer environments, including classified and sensitive data settings; owning responses to federal RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and technical capability statements; handling technical objections and competitive positioning in real time; and consulting on solution architecture within federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, ITAR, CMMC).
You will also stay current on competitive solutions in the federal space, drive customer success with mission-aligned recommendations, partner with post-sales teams to ensure customer value realization, and work with Product Management to capture federal customer feedback for product enhancements.
Required qualifications: minimum 5 years in pre-sales engineering or consulting within enterprise software or federal systems; prior experience with U.S. Federal agencies or defense organizations; familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, ITAR, and CMMC; broad understanding of enterprise data architecture, privacy, and security technologies; hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes; scripting and API skills (Python, Bash, REST APIs); experience with RDBMS, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), Hadoop technologies, or cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government); ability to plan and execute POCs independently; strong troubleshooting and methodical problem-solving; and excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
U.S. Citizenship is required. An active U.S. Government Secret clearance is required; Top Secret clearance is preferred. Travel: 20–40%. Location: DC/Maryland/Virginia region preferred (EST timezone considered).
