You'll join the Product Engineering organization as a Senior Software Engineer focused on growth—designing and building features for acquisition, activation, upgrade/upsell, and retention that directly impact millions of learners globally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver end-to-end projects from planning through deployment, owning complex features across the user lifecycle
- Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests using GrowthBook, with full ownership from hypothesis framing through result interpretation
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics to define success metrics, instrument events, and ensure rigorous experiment analysis
- Own specific funnels or lifecycle surfaces (e.g., signup, onboarding, upgrade) end-to-end, including instrumentation and health monitoring
- Build and maintain high-quality, scalable systems using Go, PHP, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern data infrastructure (MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, GCP)
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing, and drive improvements to engineering practices
- Execute rapidly with minimal oversight, breaking down complex projects into actionable tasks
- Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact timelines, quality, or user experience
You'll work in a collaborative environment with engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists. The team operates with autonomy, embraces experimentation, and prioritizes user-centric design. Hybrid role based in San Francisco; minimum two days per week in office (Wednesday and Thursday).
