Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join its Information Security department. This remote role reports to the Manager, Security Engineering and focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security measures to protect company assets and stay ahead of emerging security risks. Key responsibilities include evaluating and implementing security tools across the stack—Data Loss Prevention, Vulnerability Management, Identity and Access Management, Web Application Firewall, Email Protection, and Endpoint Protection. You will evaluate and deploy Security, Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) software, develop and maintain automation scripts for threat hunting, detection, and digital forensics, and design security detection mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and observability. You will maintain a cloud-based SIEM by ensuring relevant logs are ingested and alerts are properly tuned. As a subject matter expert in incident response, you may function as the lead incident responder and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident escalations. Additional responsibilities include staying current on threats and vulnerabilities, conducting security awareness training through internal phishing campaigns, collaborating with internal teams on secure implementation guidelines, and documenting standards, policies, and architecture diagrams. Required qualifications include a minimum of 8 years as a security engineer or similar role, proficiency in incident response, threat hunting, and AWS cloud security, expertise in purple team operations with both offensive and defensive strategy knowledge, and experience with identity management protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect). You must have hands-on experience automating incident response playbooks using SOAR solutions and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with Cloudflare, Datadog, Wiz, and Tines is preferred, as is Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform, Ansible) and relevant certifications (OSCP, SSCP, GSEC). Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, proven documentation abilities, and collaborative team experience are essential.
