F5 is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and delivery for Web Application Firewall (WAF) capabilities across modern application environments, including containerized and cloud-native architectures built on Nginx, Envoy, and Kubernetes. This role sits at the intersection of application security and emerging AI/agentic workload protection, requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to shape F5's competitive positioning in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
Key responsibilities include owning product management for WAF capabilities spanning modern app environments, defining and prioritizing requirements for extending protections to AI-driven applications, and contributing to technical marketing content such as reference architectures and solution briefs. You will engage directly with customers to understand security goals and technical constraints, translate feedback into prioritized backlog items, and drive adoption through customer enablement and sales readiness. The role requires tracking product and business performance metrics, monitoring competitive developments in Kubernetes and cloud-native security, and validating demand patterns to inform roadmap decisions.
You will partner closely with engineering teams to translate requirements into well-scoped backlog items, collaborate with Principal PMs on portfolio-level prioritization, and work across sales, marketing, and customer support to execute go-to-market strategies. Strong analytical skills are essential—you'll build metrics, dashboards, and reports using both traditional BI platforms (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SQL) and AI-powered analytics tools to measure product adoption, usage, and business impact.
Required qualifications include a BA/BS in a relevant field, 5+ years in technical product management, 3+ years in cybersecurity product management, and hands-on experience with networking/cybersecurity products (firewalls, proxies, WAFs). You must have working knowledge of modern app infrastructure (Nginx, Envoy, Kubernetes, containers) and familiarity with AI tooling and agentic application architectures. Experience with cloud-native environments and SaaS security delivery models is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are critical for success in this cross-functional role.
